Crypto is a big deal, according to President Trump. He repeated his mantra that the US needs to lead in crypto, so China can’t. What else did the President have to say?

President Donald Trump called crypto "a big deal" in a Punchbowl News interview, saying people are increasingly paying with Bitcoin without thinking about cash.
"If we don't have it, China's going to have it," Trump said.
Bitcoin adoption is happening organically at the consumer level and takes pressure off the dollar, but while he doesn't personally run his crypto holdings, he doesn't discuss them with his children, and wouldn't mind a blind trust arrangement.

Gold futures surged roughly 3% to near $4,400 Friday after the U.S. economy lost 23,000 jobs in July — a shock miss against expectations for an 83,000 gain that cratered bets on another Fed rate hike.
The unemployment rate fell to 4.1% only because fewer people were looking for work, not because more found it.
Fed hike bets crumbled fast, with Polymarket slashing September odds from 48% to 34% and futures dropping from 57% to 43.9%.
