What Happened: "Both nations are united by a common goal of building the most modern infrastructure, creating a safe and comfortable urban environment," Sergey Cheremin, minister of the Moscow government and chairman of the board of Russia's Business Council for Cooperation with India, said in a speech earlier this month at the Smart Cities India Expo program.

Why It Matters: The success of this initiative could have profound implications for the BRICS bloc. This movement toward embracing digital economies is seen as a crucial step in the bloc’s ongoing efforts to move away from dollar-dependent systems.

CRYPTO CORNER

Briefly: $580,000 were stolen from crypto users by promoting false token airdrop links through an email phishing scam.

What Happened: Rug pull survivor turned detective ZachXBT posted a "Community Alert" regarding phishing emails holding the tag name of CoinTelegraph, Wallet Connect, Token Terminal and DeFi team. The tweet provided a multichain address and indicated that $580,000 has been stolen as of its last update.

Why It Matters: Many social media users expressed surprise that the crypto community could fall victim to such attacks in 2024. However, as ZachXBT and some users explained, the scam emails came from official-looking addresses, enabling their success.
